New Modern Testing Station For Power Transformers

Łódź, Poland, September 2019 – The new 290 sqm testing station officially opened at the headquarters of ZREW Transformatory in Łódź, Poland. The features and advantages of the new testing station will help ZREW take a huge step forwards in the development of transformers. The opening was celebrated with a joyful ceremony.

The ceremony was divided into two parts. The first part was attended by employees of ZREW Transformatory. In the second part the employees were joined by key clients of the company, representatives of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers, Lodz and Warsaw Polytechnics, companies involved in the building of the station and the management board of the R&S Group. In addition to presenting the capabilities of the new station, guests could visit the entire factory and took part in the presentation on “Contemporary trends in transformer designs.”

The main features and advantages of the new testing station are:
• Reliable measuring system enabling compliance with more rigorous customer requirements regarding transformer technical parameters.
• Use of appropriate shielding of the testing station with a mesh of magnetic material, referred to as a Faraday cage.
• Low level of acoustic background.
• Low level of partial discharges.
• Increased safety during performed tests.
• Increased customer comfort during FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests).
• Optimization of transformer design thanks to accurate and reliable measurements.

The challenge during the construction process was that all the work was carried out with the full operation of the factory. However, it should be emphasized that thanks to its parameters, this testing station brings us to the first league of power transformer manufacturers.
