The project, finished in April 2018, had some exciting challenges on the way. One of them was the construction of the biggest battery in the world. For Rauscher & Stoecklin, this project was an unusual application. It was the first “eMobility” project, thus Rauscher & Stoecklin invented for the male plug system a state-of-the-art finger touch protection. This resulted in having male and female connectors with IP4X protection, that ensures maximum safety.
Biggest electric vehicle in the world
Back in 2016, eMining, a sub-company of the Swiss companies Lithium Storage GmbH and Kuhn AG, was asked to construct the biggest electric vehicle in the world. The so-called eDumper is now in operation and brings raw material from the stone quarry "La Tscharner" in Switzerland to a deeper located conveyor system. At the end of each day, the eDumper is plugged into a 600V/100KW connector from Rauscher & Stoecklin to recharge or to feed the grid with the generated energy.
