Power supply for the Football World Cup 2022

Doha, Qatar, July 2018 – For the first time in the history of the FIFA Football World Cup, the tournament in 2022 will be hold in the Middle East. The beautifully designed stadiums in Qatar will not only make sure you will have an unforgettable experience but also ensure safety and energy efficiency. To make sure power is given at any time, Tesar will supply over 180 cast resin transformers – so you can enjoy the football match without worrying about anything else.

Located in Doha, the Khalifa Stadium is the National Stadium of Qatar. The impressive stadium is the first completed 2022 World Cup venue after it has undergone a EUR 80 million renovation. It includes a state of the art cooling technology which will keep the temperature at a pleasant level and will use 40 percent less energy than other cooling methods.

Sustainability and low energy usage are characteristic of the Al Bayt Stadium. The 60’000-capacity area is built like a giant tent – making it not only a modern building but also reducing the energy required for cooling. All of the transformers will be in compliance with the green-thinking concept.

The transformers will be located at different stadiums in Qatar:

• Over 180 cast resin transformers
• Adapted to the customers’ needs
• Adapted to the climatic conditions
• Sustainable and low energy solution
• Safety-compliant design

We are proud to be the main supplier of transformers for this important and renowned event. Our years of experience working with customers from the Middle East have made us experts in understanding the needs and requirements of the region.
