New type of pantograph disconnectors for ČEPS

Plzeň, Czech Republic, July 2020 – For the substation Prosenice in the Czech transmission grid new disconnector types with the high short-circuit capacity of 63 kA were delivered. The disconnectors are used to ensure that the electrical circuit is completely de-energized for servicing or maintenance. The pantograph design is ideal for minimal space requirements.

It is the first delivery of the new pantograph disconnectors – type 3SPJU-4240 (420 kV, 4000 A, 63 kA/1s, 160 kA). During the FAT, with the presence of ČEPS representatives, the new disconnectors have been tested successfully according to the standard routine tests.
