Dogger Bank, located more than 130 km off the north-east coast of England, will be the world&#8217;s largest offshore wind farm when complete, capable of powering up to 6 million UK homes (5% of the UK\u2019s demand). The Dogger Bank Offshore Development Zone extends over approximately 8660 km\u00b2 and water depths range from 18 m to 63 m.<\/p>\n<p>Some specifications of the project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Type of device: 250 A high current connector<\/li>\n<li>Quantity: overall 400 connectors<\/li>\n<li>Technology: sea-water resistant solution (special housing resistant to salty environment)<\/li>\n<li>Place of installation: Dogger Bank Wind Farm, UK<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Electrical equipment and devices supplied to offshore wind farms must meet special conditions. The salt water environment requires the use of strong connectors able to handle the water (IP67) and the aggressive atmosphere. Rauscher &amp; Stoecklin had to deliver connectors in special sea water resistant design.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #5587c8;\">About Dogger Bank Wind Farm<\/span><br \/>\nDogger Bank Wind Farm is an offshore wind farm being developed in three phases \u2013 Dogger Bank A, B and C \u2013 located between 130 km and 190 km from the North East coast of England at their nearest points. Collectively, they will become the world\u2019s largest offshore wind farm with an installed capacity of 3.6 GW. The farm will be capable of powering up to 6 million homes.
