Tesar Transformers for TIM Datacenter in Italy

Subbiano Arezzo, Italy, January 2021 In July 2020 Tesar has awarded a contract for the supply of transformers which will energize the new datacenter of TIM, Telecom Italia Mobile. The new facility is located in Rozzano, in the southern area of Milan, about 30 minutes from the Linate airport.

The new datacenter guarantees 99.9% business continuity and keeps data safe from any possible incidents. The high-efficiency Tesar transformers will be installed in the cogeneration plant and will also feed the auxiliary services for the new Complex B in Rozzano. Tesar has been able to fulfil all technical requirements, respecting a limited delivery plan.

Some specifications about the project:

  • 17 high efficiency cast resin dry type transformers
  • Power ratings from 400 kVA up to 2500 kVA
  • Voltage Ratio 23/0,4kV
  • Supply completed within December 2020

The project is part of TIM’s investment plan of many expected cogeneration plants in the near future.
