Two additional power transformers for AST, Latvia
Łódź, Poland, October 2020 – ZREW continues its successful cooperation with Augstsprieguma tikls AS (AST), an independent transmission system operator in the Republic of Latvia. Currently, ten power transformers manufactured in the ZREW factory in Łódź are already in operation in Latvia. In 2021, two more units will be delivered.
According to the recently signed contract with the Latvian company AST, the delivery of two more units is planned for 2021. The transformers will be installed at two different substations.
Some specifications of the project:
- Substation “Dagda” – transformer 10 MVA (115/21 kV)
- Substation “TEC-2” – transformer 25 MVA (115/21/10,5 kV)
- Delivery in 2021
“AST is a customer with high but clearly defined technical and quality standards. I believe that in the several years of our cooperation, we have been diligently doing our homework and we have earned the customers trust”, states Robert Szperna, project manager at ZREW.
The export of power transformers is one of the main focuses for ZREW. Up to now, transformers manufactured in Łódź have been delivered to ten different European countries: Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Scotland, Slovakia and Spain. However, the main and the most important market remains the domestic market Poland.

AS Augstsprieguma tikls (AST) is an independent transmission system operator in the Republic of Latvia, engaged in providing electric power transmission network services and ensuring the balancing and stability within the transmission network.
