Sissach, Switzerland, August 2019 – US-based electric vehicle manufacturer, Tesla, wants to expand its four existing charging stations, so-called « superchargers », in Pratteln, Switzerland to 28 stations. Because of the lack of the necessary power supply in this area, a new transformer station will be built and Rauscher & Stoecklin has been awarded with the delivery of a 1000 kVA distribution transformer.
In May 2019, the construction of the expansion of the charging stations began. Only 10 minutes from Basel and en route for Pratteln-bound traffic, it is the ideal spot for plug-in stations for electric vehicles. Together with the partner Cellpack, Rauscher & Stoecklin will deliver a 1000 kVA transformer for the newly built transformer station.
Some specifications about the project:
• 24 new Tesla “superchargers”
• Located in Pratteln, next to the waterpark “Aquabasilea”
• 1 x 1000 kVA oil-filled transformer
• Specially reinforced windings
• 24-hour operation
• Charging station with up to 120 kW
We are very happy to be the supplier for this interesting and future-leading project. Rauscher & Stoecklin aims to invest more in this business field in order to deliver specially-designed transformers for charging stations in the future.
