First delivery of power transformer outside the EU

Łódź, Poland, January 2019 – ZREW Transformatory delivered its first power transformer outside the EU. The order was completed for Elektroprenos-Elektroprijenos BiH a.d. Banja Luka, a company with a monopoly for the transmission of electric power in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The company’s main task is to transmit electric power, generated in power plants, to power distribution areas or large industrial consumers. For ZREW, it is another step in increasing the share in the export sales market.

The whole contract was set up in cooperation with a local business partner. ZREW not only produced the customer-specific power transformer but also took care of the assembly on site. The transformer was delivered to a substation in Lukavac near Tuzla, the third largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Main data about the transformer:
• three-phase transformer
• power rating 40/40/27MVA
• voltage 110/36,75/10,5(21)kV

It was the first project for a customer from outside the European Union. Besides the technical challenges such as dimension constraints and active part design, all the official communication with the final customer was in Bosnian. Thanks to very good cooperation with the local business partner, the project went smoothly.
