Power transformers for the most modern gas and steam block in Poland
Łódź, Poland, June 2018 – The year 2018 brings new challenges and engagements in large projects in the Polish energy sector. One of them is the participation in the creation of the most modern gas and steam block in Poland, which will be built at the Żerań Heat and Power Plant in Warsaw. The block will provide heat supply for Warsaw and increase electricity production in the Heat and Power Plant by approx. 80 percent.
ZREW will supply 3 power transformers for the operation of the block. The order will be executed on the basis of the agreement signed with Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe Gmbh, one of the main contractors of the block. It will meet the strictest European environmental protection criteria, i.e. the requirements of the Directive on Industrial Emissions and BAT requirements. The construction is to be completed in 2020.
The transformers manufactured by ZREW for the needs of the block are 42 MVA (2 units) and 80 MVA (1 unit)
- all three will meet the strict requirements in terms of acoustic pressure level
- as high-efficiency units, they will help to reduce losses and costs in the production of heat and electricity
- one of the transformers will be equipped with modern bushings enabling the bus duct connection of the SF6 gas-insulated transmission lines
The cooperation with Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe is part of the long list of ZREW’s implementation for the needs of the largest Polish energy projects and is another order carried out for a large international partner.
