ZREW offers both new construction and extensive repair and modernisation services for oil-immersed transformers of any make up to 150 MVA and 145 kV, regardless of their original year of manufacture – including core replacement, rewinding, on-load tap changer service and oil treatment. This limit applies to the repair of existing units; new ZREW transformers are manufactured up to 160 MVA / 220 kV.
What is an on-load tap changer and does ZREW offer one?
An on-load tap changer allows the turns ratio of a transformer to be adjusted during operation without switching it off. ZREW equips its transformers with on-load tap changers from renowned manufacturers, including electric local or remote operation.
Which ambient conditions are ZREW transformers designed for?
Standard ZREW transformers are designed for continuous operation at ambient temperatures from −25 °C to +40 °C and an installation altitude of up to 1,000 m above sea level; versions for down to −40 °C are available on request.
Does ZREW also offer transformers for renewable energies?
Yes. ZREW manufactures power transformers for wind farms, among others, and for renewable energy applications in general.
Can ZREW transformers be filled with alternative insulating fluids?
Yes. As an alternative to conventional mineral oil, ZREW also offers synthetic, environmentally friendly ester fluids.
What standard equipment does a ZREW power transformer include?
Standard equipment includes porcelain bushings, magnetic oil level indicators with signal contacts, a Buchholz relay for gas monitoring, a pressure relief valve and silica gel air breathers.
Is condition monitoring available for ZREW transformers?
Yes. On request, ZREW installs a modern monitoring system for continuous condition monitoring of the transformers.
