Reliable Power for the Glatt-Zurich Shopping Center
Sissach, Switzerland, March 2021 – The Glatt shopping center, located in Wallisellen and built in 1975, is Switzerland’s top-selling and most popular shopping center. After 40 years in operation, some structural and technical renovations, including two transformer stations, needed to be carried out. R&S Rauscher & Stoecklin are proud that they could be a part of the project, supplying a total of 12 transformers.
With this project, the owner of the center wants to focus on a sustainable energy strategy. The conversion was carried out during ongoing operations, which means a high demand for uninterrupted power supply. Likewise, the safety of the staff and guests had to be guaranteed at all times. Elektro Stoll Schweiz AG took care of the decommissioning of the old transformers and the installation of the new ones.
Some specifications of the project:
- 2 transformers with 1600 kVA and low radiation
- 10 transformers with 1000 kVA and wheel locks
- ECO++ design
- First two transformers delivered in May 2019
- Delivery of remainder was at the end of 2020
