Switch control systems for high-performance grid wind tunnel
Sissach, Switzerland, May 2019 – Rauscher & Stoecklin delivered multiple switch control systems to the end-customer University of the Armed Forces in Munich, Germany. The university has many wind tunnels in different institutions designed for the study of ballistics and aerodynamics. Crucial for their research, those wind channels are used by teams all over the world.
In 2015, Rauscher & Stoecklin already cooperated with the Swiss company Wytec GmbH regarding the installation of switch control systems for the university’s transonic wind channel. In 2017, Rauscher & Stoecklin renewed and automated the hardware as well as the software. The most recent assignment included the delivery and installation of multiple switch control systems for the high-performance grid wind tunnel.
Some of the project’s key specifications are:
• Reconstruction of control panel
• New construction of master switch control system
• New construction of the switch control system’s decentralized periphery
• Wiring of all sensors
• Wiring of connections from the master system to the control panel
