Tramway Casablanca

Subbiano Arezzo, Italy, July 2018 – In view to the development plan of the public transport that will connect 3 million inhabitants in the metropolitan area of Casablanca by 2030, a new tram line and an extension of an existing tram line were introduced. To make sure the tram lines are supplied with power and bring you comfortably from destination to destination, Tesar provided not only cast resin transformers but also oil immersed transformers.

Colas Rail, the electrical general contractor, has chosen Tesar as a partner in this project since Tesar demonstrated once again the ability to fulfill all technical characteristics required by the consultant engineering company Systra. The long and fruitful cooperation with Colas Rail and many years of experience in tramway and metro projects supported the decision of Colas Rail for Tesar as their supplier.

Tesar offered the best solution for special environmental conditions:
• 15 cast resin traction transfomers
• 16 oil immersed transformers
• 3 cast resin auxiliary transfomers

Our 30 years of experience in rail mobility projects can be seen in the design, manufacture and delivery of such customized transformers. We are interested in the Moroccan market and want to build up a strong position in the future.

– Filippo Paoletti, Area Sales Manager at Tesar

In the past, Tesar had already supplied some transformers to projects in Morocco. With the project in Casablanca, the company now strengthens its position in the market and makes a step towards their ambitious target.
