Transformers for the Circle at Zurich Airport
Sissach, Switzerland, January 2019 – Inspiring moments, lively encounters, infinite possibilities: THE CIRCLE is the new place to be at Zurich Airport. For a stable and secure power supply, transformers are a key component. Rauscher & Stoecklin is proud to supply the transformers and switchboards for what is currently the largest building construction project in Switzerland.
THE CIRCLE is a new complex of buildings within walking distance of the terminals of Zurich airport. It offers a variety of businesses and lifestyle amenities, culture and entertainment, hotels and conference facilities, education, and healthcare. To make sure uninterrupted power supply is given, Rauscher & Stoecklin was chosen to supply their transformers as well as their switchboards of Swiss-quality standard.
Some specifications regarding the project:
• Completion by the end of 2019
• 180.000 sqm of floorspace
• A total of 17 transformers
• ECO+ series for high efficiency
• 140 HVAC sub-distributors and 40 HVAC main switchboards
• Transport and installation included
For the project, transformers of the ECO+ series are being used, which convinced the customer of their efficiency, dimensions and long lifespan. The first batch of transformers was already delivered last December. The rest will follow throughout this year. With the partner, Michel Krantrans GmbH, the upcoming tasks will be carried out punctually and with the highest standards of quality.
