Transformers for a Swiss data center
Sissach, Switzerland, September 2021 – R&S Rauscher & Stoecklin, supplied 4 oiled transformers to a project run by an independent engineering company EDICO. The end customer is one of main Swiss telecommunications providers. The transformers were manufactured for the needs of the new data center in Zürich.
Scope and key features of the supply:
- 4 transformers with 1250 kVA
- 4 stand–alone oil retention vats
- The order included FATs and installation inside a building
- Place of installation: data center in Zürich
- Delivery: July 2021
The most difficult stage of the project for R&S Rauscher & Stoecklin turned out to be the final part – assembly inside the building. The corridors were narrow, and the floor was partially sensitive, so the devices’ transportation had to be carried out very precisely.
To ensure the selection of optimal solutions during the project implementation, R&S Rauscher & Stoecklin used their long-time experience in the manufacturing and installation of transformers. The company looks forward to further cooperation with EDICO. The building will be expanded step-by-step with additional servers, and other transformers will be needed.
