Transformers for new factory of South Korea’s largest energy – chemical company

Łódź, Poland, January 2021 – ZREW manufactured 2 transformers for SK hi-tech battery materials Poland – producer of separators for lithium-ion batteries (LiBS).

Transformers were delivered to Dąbrowa Górnicza, where  the SK hi-tech battery factory is being built.

SK, as the first in South Korea and the third in the world, developed the separators, a key component in lithium-ion batteries, by applying chemical technologies, accumulated over the span of 50 years, and advanced nano-technologies.

Separators (LiBS) produced in the Dąbrowa plant, will be used in batteries for smartphones, laptops, tablets and electric cars.

Details of the order:

  • Transformers’ specification: 2 units with power rating of 80 MVA and voltage of 115/21 kV
  • Place of delivery: SK hi-tech battery materials Poland
  • Scope of work: production, transport on site and assembly of the transformer.
  • Date of delivery: October 2020
  • Date of commissioning: January 2021
