Major project to supply connectors to Saudi Arabia

Sissach, Switzerland, March 2021 – Project involving delivery of 200 industrial connectors to the container terminal.  R&S Rauscher & Stoecklin, with its partner, Mennekes China, won a project for the supply of connectors to Saudi Arabia’s King Abdulaziz Port Dammam. It is the Kingdom’s main port in the Persian Gulf.

The port serves the major provincial cities in the Eastern and Central Provinces of Saudi Arabia and it is the closest gateway port to the country’s economic center and capital city, Riyadh.

Some specifications for the project:

  • 100 connectors: 100 x MC 400A, 100 x FCP 400A
  • To be used for the electrification of the container terminal
  • Place of delivery: King Abdulaziz Port Dammam
  • Date of delivery: March 2021

As it is a port application, the customer expects very robust and extremely safe solutions. Moreover, the connectors need to be IP67-certified.

It is not the first order for R&S Rauscher & Stoecklin in Saudi Arabia. Last year, the company delivered industrial connectors to a 5G telecommunication project. Both contracts are steps for R&S to deepen its involvement in the Persian Gulf region.
