Muscat International Airport in Oman

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, May 2018 – During the night between 20 and 21 March 2018, the new Muscat International Airport in Oman was put into operation. Spread across an area of 335.000 sqm, the new airport is able to handle more than 20 million passengers per year, with plans to increase the capacity up to 48 million in the future.

To meet the demanding challenge of keeping the power-heavy airport operations running and the safety maintained, Tesar provided a special custom-made solution.

  • 78 cast resin transformers with different kVA levels
  • Customer-specific adjustments
  • System running 24/7 and 365 days a year
  • In compliance with strict safety regulations

Especially in an airport, safety is very important. All electrical products used in the Muscat International Airport have been chosen to meet the strict safety regulations.

With our knowledge and expertise in other airport projects in the Middle East, we knew our transformers would meet the safety regulations while providing constant power supply.

– Egizia Maffucci, Sales Director Middle East at Tesar

The company has already supplied some of the biggest airports in the region such as Dubai International Airport, Hamad International Airport and Bahrain International Airport.

With an office in Dubai and a production site in Abu Dhabi, Tesar wants to further strengthen its position in the Middle East.
